Minimising disruption to the local community, neighbouring properties, and residents, remains a key priority for the project team. Sir Robert McAlpine (SRM) continues to utilise modern construction methods, machinery, and best practice techniques to ensure any impact on the surrounding area is kept to a minimum and managed effectively throughout the remaining phases of the project.

Environment
The project is managed in accordance with the highest environmental standards. We aim to procure plant and equipment that is either electric or powered by low-carbon fuels, such as HVO. This will greatly reduce our onsite carbon emissions and contribute to improving the local air quality.
As part of the project's BREEAM aspirations, sustainable procurement of the building materials is a priority. At this stage, over 80% of key building materials possess valid responsible sourcing credentials and 100% of the timber used onsite has Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification.
Construction waste leaving site is sent to recycling facilities for processing. We also ensure that the waste hierarchy principles are followed and try to avoid generating the waste in the first place. Over 99% of our waste has been diverted from landfill.
This project is registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), an initiative that promotes best practice across the construction industry and encourages standards that go beyond statutory requirements. The scheme is built around three key principles: 1) Respecting the Community, 2) Caring for the Environment, 3) Valuing our Workforce.
